They carry lots of nuts year after year, but we usually don't get any, because we don't know how to keep the squirrels away. One year in frustration, I took off all the green nut clusters, before we went on a trip. I spread them out on the screened in porch to "ripen" ha-ha.
That year we didn't get any, they rotted, but the squirrels also didn't get them either. This year looks promising. I don't know where the squirrels are? I just picked a green nut, and yes, they are pretty tasty, but I think I'll wait a while longer.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11756194839303013688noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2244231575608437104.post-18421433696609919812018-09-18T16:04:19.600+01:002018-09-18T16:04:19.600+01:00Hi' where is hazelnut tree in southampton'...Hi' where is hazelnut tree in southampton' i need hazelnut treeleaf.thanksMuhammadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04518481587077257772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2244231575608437104.post-47381138574003750142012-08-30T19:52:34.212+01:002012-08-30T19:52:34.212+01:00I tried a green cob-nut. Get the hazelnuts, or preferably cobnuts, when they are still green from the tree and they have a softer moist texture and delicate flavour, a bit like a firm water chestnut or more like pignut if you have ever tried that little known English delicacy. They used to sell them in the fruit markets apparently, and some people like them dipped in salt but I think that overpowers the taste.

Cheers,

Steve O.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2244231575608437104.post-13256637761425336322011-09-26T15:10:10.751+01:002011-09-26T15:10:10.751+01:00Top tips Dreambox - how do you get the skins off t...Top tips Dreambox - how do you get the skins off though?
I left them natural for my hazelnut/chocolate spread (it's dark anyway) but it tasted pretty good (as judged by my children).Alhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14220955144459387163noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2244231575608437104.post-26819860037185958612011-09-26T06:23:57.787+01:002011-09-26T06:23:57.787+01:00Hazelnuts, also known as hazelnuts usually work be...Hazelnuts, also known as hazelnuts usually work best in a recipe, when the skin is removed. This is because the skin is bitter and can change the appearance of the final product according to its dark color.Dreamboxhttp://dreambox-dvb.com/noreply@blogger.com
